About the policy regarding drawing on the art room desks: I - TopicsExpress

About the policy regarding drawing on the art room desks: I personally, as an expressive art student feel as though preventing students from doodling on the desks at all to be closer related to limiting the beauty of the room rather than expanding upon it. All of the different signatures and small pictures that are on the desks this year are super creative. It was brought to my attention that at the end of every year, the desks are sanded to be cleared of things that had been added over the course of the year. However, what if we instead put a layer of coating on it? Sparing any obscenities drawn, of course, I think that we could utilize these desks as sort of a selling point to take an art class. It would be akin to how all of the previous theatre kids have their signatures written in at least one place in the auditorium. It has also been brought to my attention that these desks might be utilized in different rooms in the future. I dont know of a room that lacks in desks at the moment, though. Nor have I ever seen them be contained in a separate room other than the Art lab within the span of the past seven years. Overall, Im simply concerned for the future of visual arts at Ogemaw Heights. It seems to me that regards towards creativity in art is being tabled and replaced with a more... corporate layout. Feel free to add opinions!
