About three years ago I purchased a composition from Adam DeGraff because I liked the piece and wanted to push myself. I worked at it for a month before I set it down and decided that I was missing the technique to perform this piece. Ive been working hard since then, playing in symphonicity and some study with Pavel Ilyashov, even studied trombone with Stephen Pezzulich, which contributed. My intonation, double-stops, sound quality, rhythm, finger agility, bow hold, bow technique and musicality has improved measurably. I picked up this piece again and was able to tackle this beast with no fear! Not to say I have mastered it in a day but I feel that it is no longer beyond my abilities!
