About to text my neice....nearly 20 now...seems she called my mother a few days ago and they were chatting about a church friend of hers..widow in his 80s with 11 children.....they met at a dance they all go to the 1st Wed of the month(this past Wed)....mom and her husband and he with his group home. He asked my mom to dance a few times and Ed asked him if hed like some food from the buffet....as they parted for the day Charlie left my mom with these words...11 children, I have....and Im in a home....Im not sick, dont have a diminished capacity..Im just in my 80s.see I can still dance!....11 kids...and Im in a home. Please thank you husband for me, that was very nice of him to let me dance with you and to ask me if he could get me some food. Mom, so taken with this comment that she shared it with my neice. Taras response? Dont worry Nana, when I get settled, you can come live me. Brought a smile to her heart, which I could hear over the phone as she relayed the day. While we know settled from 20 may be years from now but she loved the thought. About to text her thank you for bringing a smile to my mothers heart.
