About twenty years ago now, our family hit an unexpected rough patch. My husband and I did all we could to keep things together for our kids and to protect them from knowing how rough it was. Many kind people family friends and even strangers helped us out with food, money and even taking over our cablevision bills and newspaper subscriptions. I have payed this help forward all my life and been forever grateful to those who helped us out. So. fast forward the twenty years and my Daughter who is thirty one tells me yesterday that the kids knew all along about all the help, they had overheard things said and felt safer and more secure because they knew our community wouldnt let us down. my daughter also pays it forward every chance she has.
