Absolutely APPALLED by the staff at Wrottesley Park Care Home on Wergs Road, Tettenhall. Driving home this evening, we passed a man lying next to his wheelchair on the grass curb, clearly in distress. I jumped out and went to him, seeing he was suffering with something like cerebral palsy, and he had a nasty cut on his hand. At that point, two other cars stopped (out of about 60 that sped by, staring), and two young guys came running over, one already calling an ambulance. The other put his jumper under the mans head. We stood there for about 10 minutes after finding out the mans name was John, with no sign of any nurses or carers around, until eventually, a care assistant appeared, smirking from ear to ear. I asked her if she knew him, and if he was always like this (by now he was rolling around in distress, wanting to get up, and almost rolling into the road), and she LAUGHED and said, oh yeah hes always like this. I then asked her what the hell he was doing out on his own, and while still smirking, she claimed that they couldnt stop him. Not ONCE did she kneel down to calm him or ask him if he was OK. She just said sorrryyyy in a sing-song voice to us passers-by, then said shed be right back, and left us all standing around him so she could go and fetch a male assistant to lift him. I am absolutely disgusted by this so-called carers attitude and lack of compassion. And I am even more revolted by the numerous people that drove past, mouths agape, not ONCE stopping to ask if we needed help. One vile man actually had the audacity to honk the horn for one of us to move our car, as it was blocking his way. Where the hell is humanity? Anyway, theres your heads up. Dont EVER send a relative or friend to Wrottesley Park Care Home, as the residents are allowed out onto a main road, unchaperoned, and clearly, today was a prime example of negligence. #WrottesleyParkCareHome, #Tettenhall, #WergsRoad, #negligence
