Absolutely brilliant show at the West Cliff Theatre Clacton, last night with Martha & The Vandellas. Although she is now 74, Martha still has a very powerful voice and her stage presence is stunning. She held the audience spellbound like the star she is. She was also very funny with her intros and little stories. The whole show was a wonderful spectacle with a great seven piece backing band and some excellent lighting (courtesy of Keith). Dancing in the aisles (if not the streets!) and a standing ovation at the end. A fantastic experience. She spent a lot of time with fans after the show signing and having photos taken and just chatting. She told me she would love to come back next year as she really enjoyed the theatre and the audience reaction. So, Martha, to coin a phrase, when are you coming back?
