Absolutely true! My two best friends at school were Jewish. As a muslim I only realised how much I had in common with them when we played Rugby and showered after. We were a cut above the rest we thought at the time. When I used to visit them at home their mums only saw me as Nic, a friend of their sons, not a muslim kid. Likewise my mum only saw my friends as just friends and they being Jewish was irrelevant. How beautiful the world would be if everyone just treated each other without suspicion and fear, as my mother and my friends mothers did, respected each others right to be who they are without being judgmental as long as they do not interfere with my right to be whom I am.
