Accepting your differences is what makes you beautiful. I try to - TopicsExpress

Accepting your differences is what makes you beautiful. I try to convey this concept to my son. Kids can be cruel and mean when another kid may be slightly different. One day he will see how truly special he is and how being an unique individual isnt a bad thing. Everyone wants to be accepted and respected but it cant always be expected. This is what growing up is all about, developing tough skin. I went through it growing up. I was an ugly duckling. Tomboy by every definition. Yet, I was a recluse. I enjoyed reading and watching television. I didnt socialize outside of school. I know what it felt like to not fit in completely and to be considered weird or different; because kids, just didnt get me. I hope he takes comfort in who he is and what potential he has to offer this great big world. One thing is for sure, he has a strong mama by his side to build him up and open those big brown eyes to the bigger picture.
