Accident on HWY 4 in Antioch eastbound - JUST a few minutes ago. AND...... ......I guess I was supposed to be there because I witnessed the whole entire thing before my very eyes. I am still emotional about it. I feel like crying to be honest. So Im on my way home and decided to take the freeway rather than the back streets. I had just merged onto the freeway and was still in the right lane attempting to find a spot where I could merge into the middle lane coming off Sommersville. I glanced into my right hand mirror for some reason, since I was trying to merge left, when what do I see but this black SUV type vehicle using the shoulder at a very high speed and I knew he was going to hit the car in front of me so I stopped real fast and waited. He hit the wall and the silver van in front of me who then hit a gold Toyota 4door and then the black vehicle kept going. I was like....NOoooo. But the black vehicle messed up his own left tire and so he stopped down the freeway about a hundred feet or so. Then the black vehicle driver got out of his car and ran. But the good news is 3 guys saw the driver run and they followed him and held him for the police. The drivers of the vehicles in front of me got out of the car and seemed fine. One black gentleman probably about mid to late 40s and one white gentleman maybe in his late 60s or early 70s. The black mans car was messed up bad but the other mans car not as much because he was essentially rear ended when the van was smashed into. All of that took place while I called 911 and gave them the whole story. That is as close to an accident as I want to be in ever and thanking GOD no one was seriously hurt.
