According to A History of Lewis County In 1845 on Lifes Run lived some prominent citizens. Nicholas Alkire was reputed to be the 2nd richest man in the county. His wealth was increased by the herds he pastured at the coves of Fink Creek. This all being noted, I believe the picture of the house in the snow (previous post and cover photo), may have been Alkires. These pictures posted now are of Mr. Nicholas P. Alkire, and note the house he is about to enter looks similar to the posted house. Anyone have any thoughts or comments?
