According to Nietzsche, art is not just a form of human activity but it is the highest expression of the human spirit; “It is only as an aesthetic phenomenon that existence and the world are eternally justified.” In this course the students explore different genres of Fine Arts such as Drawing, Painting, Sculpture Miniature Painting, Print-making, Installations, Digital/Video Art with their own complex context and history. They are trained to develop individual ways of expression based on interpretation, innovation and experimentation. Art is a multidisciplinary and collaborative field of knowledge, thus the overall objective of the BFA program is to lead in art-practice, play a proactive role in developing a philosophy of art relevant to the region and context, and to impart education that helps the students to fully develop their creative abilities. The course is spread over 140 credit hours and follows three core domains of learning, thinking and skill development, i.e. History of Philosophy of Art, Art Technologies, and Studio Practice culminating into a Thesis. The whole process is supported by visits, class discussions, presentations, report writing, crits, maintaining of journals, interaction with guest speakers, extra-curricular activities, workshop experiences and participation in community development.
