According to a Sheriff’s report, Deputy Ramona Fuhs responded to the above address last night, after an argument ensued between the couple. Nancy claims that Robert placed his hand on her mouth, apparently in an attempt to silence her. Subsequently, Robert Sewell was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and transported to the Hernando County Jail - he was held on a $500 bond. To some, the charge against Robert may sound trivial, but in Florida a DV charge is defined as simply an unwanted or impermissible touching (Florida Statute). When Robert touched his wife’s mouth during an argument, he committed Misdemeanor Domestic Battery. Florida is also a Mandatory Arrest state and also follows a strict No Drop policy. So if you are in a relationship and touch your significant other during an argument you may be charged with Domestic Battery, with or without visible injury.
