According to a report today by MPs, the Queens finances have been badly managed, resulting in palaces in urgent need of repair, with some royal residences in dangerous conditions. MPs have suggested that Buckingham Palace should be opened to more paying visitors when the Queen is not in residence, to fund improvements to the royal estate.
