According to face book I have 198 friends. 198 That number is important because with your help I can demonstrate to my children how as an individual they have the power to change people’s lives beyond themselves. They have the power to make a difference in this crazy world. I say all of this this to say that I would like to conduct a social experiment. Weather you believe it or not one person can make a difference. I would like everyone in my little network to reach out to everyone in there’s and to allow a small act to make a difference. I task you my FRIENDS with doing an act of kindness in the next 24 hours. This act can be large or small and can be for someone you know or a total stranger. I ask you to do this act of kindness and then post a brief comment. I know that many of you do this daily but I would like you to post a comment about it on my page. This is not just to give you praise for a job well done, but to show all the good there still is in the world. My circle is small but it is blessed. Please take a few moments and share your blessing with someone in need then share it with me. 198 By many standards that is not a very large number. But it’s quite a lot to me. Please be aware that being my friend is not something I take lightly. I do not accept friend requests from people I do not know, have never met, or that are not related to me in some manner. My “Friends” are all people who have touched my life in some way. They are also the people I hope that knowing me has improved their life in some way as well. I joined the social networking craze to keep in touch with people I genuinely cared about and wanted to see doing well. This format allows me to share in their joys and triumphs, reach out to them during times of difficulty to lend my encouragement and support. I can’t be there in person but I have watch my nieces graduate and go to prom, attended my sisters engagement party and to laugh at the everyday observations that keep me in the loop. I have been given the wonderful opportunity to pray for a friend in the first grade I have not seen, see the beautiful children of my Nightingale family and stay in touch with people from jobs past. I keep an eye on the all kids in my family near and far, and can even take a look at what my cousins across the globe are doing. As we know the power of social media can be used for good, evil and everything in-between. Let us show the children that a small group can make a big impact. Be creative and have fun doing it .
