According to his Facebook page, Kory Watkins, the leader of Open Carry Tarrant County, was arrested last night. In recent weeks Watkins and his group have expanded their mission from armed walks to cop watching. Angry that Arlington Police didnt want them passing out the Constitution in stopped traffic while carrying semi-automatic rifles, they have purchased a police scanner, and have used it to interfere with drunk driving checkpoints and police calls. Last night they showed up at a call and Watkins, by his telling of the story, was arrested as he tried to comply with their order to stay back. According to Watkins, who claims to work for God, this was a mini Ferguson. He was out on crowdsourced bail in a matter of hours, and says he intends to show up at the next cop watch with his AK-47.
