According to the ACLU, Catholic-sponsored hospitals are required - TopicsExpress

According to the ACLU, Catholic-sponsored hospitals are required to adhere to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. The directives prohibit a pre-viability pregnancy termination, even when there is little or no chance that the fetus will survive, and the life or health of a pregnant woman is at risk, the ACLU said. The directives also direct health care providers not to inform patients about alternatives. Does not inform patients about alternatives? This just begs the question of why these hospitals are allowed to function at all? If they cannot tend to patients based on what is best for the patient, they need to lose their license.
