According to this guy, the best pizzeria in the US is Tonys in SF (North Beach). I think this requires a research trip!! (Rl Meckler? Beth? Diane?) To me, pizza is classic Margherita cooked in a wood-burning oven (exactly like this photo!); or second to that, classic NY cheese slices (also shown in the article) that you can fold in one hand and will droop down at the point. I also used to live in New Haven and really enjoyed Pepes. But right now, I would love that Margherita.
