According to todays Amnesty International report the Nigerian - TopicsExpress

According to todays Amnesty International report the Nigerian Armed Forces were told four hours before the attack and abduction of the 273 school children in Chibok. If this is true then the Governor of Borno state, the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Federal Government itself have not only failed in their duties but they also have blood on their hands. Such incompetence and insensitivity is completely unacceptable. They must take full responsiblity for what has happened to those girls and each and every one of them should bow their heads in shame. A government that cannot protect its own women and children is not a government at all. I am disgusted and ashamed at this latest report, at their incompetence and insensitivity and at their inability to do their job. When confronted with this issue on the World Have Your Say BBC television programme on 9th May 2014 and when he was told that had the abducted children been those of the rich and powerful it would not have taken three weeks for the government to react, our Minister of Information, Labaran Maku simply said I am the son of a peasant and Mr. President is the son of a peasant. What an answer. I am utterly flabbergasted and mortified. I really dont see what his self-confessed peasants stock, lineage and ancestry has to do with this issue. In my view whether he is a peasant or not is neither here nor there. We just want the government to protect our people and bring our girls back.
