Accounts Payable Accountant---- LEC In the Finance Division EFIN: FA 0121 DATE: 09/09/2014 Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position is in Maseru, LEC Head office. The incumbent will be responsible to the Financial Accounting Manager. QUALIFICATIONS •BCOMM Accounting Degree or General Accountant. EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS Experience: •Minimum two (2) years relevant experience. •Good understanding of International Accounting Standards. •Good experience with computerised accounting packages (Preferably ACCPAC) and MS Office Packages. •Fair Knowledge of Lesotho Tax Laws. •Highly numerate. Personal attributes: •Excellent analytical and report writing skills. •Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following: •Manages Accounts Payable and Accounting for LEC Contracts. •Maintains a record of bulk electricity purchases and reconcile to General Ledger. •Ensures adherence of transaction to Lesotho Tax Laws. •Reconciles Accounts Payable module to General Ledger. •Reconciles all GL accounts relevant to LEC Contracts. •Supervises reconciliation of individual creditors’ accounts. •Manages the Accounts Payable Section including personnel. •Maintains good relationship with stakeholders. •Continually reviews policies and procedures relating to own span of control. •Actively participates in preparation of departmental plan and budget. •Actively participates in the evaluation of LEC contracts.
