“Across Wales, people are fed up. I speak to people everywhere who have lost hope that the Westminster system will deliver any meaningful change in their lives. “People can see no improved prospects for themselves or for future generations with the current ruling elite. “The UK is among the most unequal states in the developed world: London is the richest part of Western Europe and just down the road in the Welsh Valleys are Western Europe’s poorest communities. “The three Westminster party leaders’ answer is deeper austerity. Further cuts. Further closures. Further losses. “The communities heaviest hit by the current wave of austerity, haven’t even had the opportunity to recover from the post-industrial austerity of the Eighties. “UKIP’s answer is to look after the interests of middle-England. They want to give London even more power, to give bankers an even greater say and sell-off even more of our public services. That is not what people in Wales want. “Plaid Cymru wants to bring our government home to Wales so we can make the decisions that are right by us and right for us. “Plaid Cymru says it’s time for Wales’ second industrial revolution where our people have the skills to succeed in the modern world, and the prosperity to flourish. “The Party of Wales has a vision of a successful country built on collective values, where no one is left behind. Realising that vision requires people to now reject Westminster austerity and embrace a future we ourselves can shape. “I urge people to join Plaid Cymru, to back the Party of Wales so that the politics of hope can defeat the politics of fear.”
