Tips from the editing suite: • Understand coverage - get ready for your close-up • ADR - dialog editing and why is it important to the actor? • What to do when you forget your line • Make choices that work - understanding the beat and making the most of the moment • Continuity is the icing on the cake and the crown to your performance • The perils of overdoing it when you could be stealing the scene Practical tools from the actor’s studio: • Get out of your head and into your gut - games for the actor that increase your ability to respond in the moment • Mental and Facial Relaxation exercises specifically for the Film Actor - dont let tension steal your performance • On-Camera Acting versus Stage - Know it, dont show it • Breaking down a scene for literal and essential action - what do I do and what do I want moment to moment? Eva Contis has 10 years of experience in the editing room pouring over actor performances and running them through post production as an editor and post production supervisor for the Sci Fi Channel, Codeblack Entertainment, Millennium Studios, Sony Pictures and numerous independents. Mary Thoma has been teaching acting and reclaiming creativity for over 25 years. She is a certified Meisner instructor and SAG actress.
