Action Jackson: 12 reasons to watch this Prabhu Dheva film! 1......After a crackling last year with films like Ramaiya Vastavaiya and R...Rajkumar, Prabhu Dheva took it easy in 2014 and is now gearing up for his next ambitious project with Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha titled Action Jackson. The film has already been in the news for a while. The ace choreographer-turned-directors movie had gotten into trouble with Hollywood studio Warner Bros who released a film in 1998 by the same title. Even in the subcontinent, the studio has the rights to this title. However, producer Gordan Tanwani remains unperturbed as Warner Bros has sent a letter to Baba Arts Limited Production and Eros International who are the joint producers of the film. According to a report in India Today, producer Gordan Tanwani was quoted as saying, When you register a title with any or all of these associations, they get their clearance from the government of India. My film is 70 per cent complete, why have they sent a notice now? Why do they have an objection now and not earlier. What was the need to send a notice? They should have called the associations because they are also the member of the same association. I am surprised. But besides that, the trailer has received positive reviews and has generated a lot of buzz. We list down reasons to watch out for this one! 2...Dialogue: Whether its Salman in Wanted, Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore or Shahid Kapoor in R...Rajkumar, Prabhu Dheva knows how to make his actors stand out, courtesy the heavyweight dialogue which become one of the USPs in the films. The dialogue also become popular with the audience and are often used publicly For e.g. Akshays famous line Dont angry me from Rowdy Rathore is mouthed till date. Even Salmans Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di toh mein apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta dialogue from Wanted is used frequently. And then of course there is Shahids famous line from R...Rajkumar, Silent ho ja warna mein violent ho jaunga that continues to resonate with the masses. So how can Action Jackson be any different? In the official trailer, Ajay Devgn alters the famous adage Its my way or the highway to Its my way or the skyway. Though these lines can seem a bit random, they have worked in all his films. Ajay further says in the trailer when he bumps into Sonakshi Sinha outside a loo, Pant utarte hi saamne aa jati hain. This is typical Prabhu Dheva style. The dialogue in his movies are entertaining and the audience loves repeating them. 3...Action: When Prabhu Dheva and Ajay Devgn team up together for a film, how can there not be action! Ajay is known for his stunts which are always difficult. But the actor challenges himself whether it was the split between two bikes in Phool aur Kaante or standing on two horses in Son of Sardaar. Talking about his action sequences in Action Jackson, the actor said in an interview to The Times of India, The stunts that I have done under Prabhus supervision in this film are amazing. Its a combination of martial arts and freestyle. Some of it was new even to me, though I have been brought up right here in the movies and in the midst of film action. Ajay apparently even underwent intense training for his sword-fighting sequences in this movie. 4..Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinhas hit jodi: This is the second time that the duo are pairing up on the silver screen. They first appeared together in the 2012 film Son of Sardaar which was a blockbuster! The audience seemed to have loved the jodi and Action Jackson that will see the two stars starring together, will surely benefit from this. In fact, while Ajay was shooting for this film, he got nostalgic while shooting the song ‘Punjabi Mast’ as he played the role of a sardaar in Son of Sardaar. A source close to the team said, The entire setting and the feel of the song was that of a Punjabi Dhaba which suits the lyrics of the song. So when Ajay Sir came on the sets he remembered his Son of Sardaar shooting days and even told us some interesting anecdotes. In fact he has danced like never before in the song and his energy in this song is definitely to watch out for. 5...Dance: Ajay Devgn is known more for his action rather than his dance. But considering its a Prabhu Dheva film, dance is an inevitable part of all his projects. According to a report in The Times of India, Ajay wasnt uncomfortable as Prabhu Dheva especially created steps that suited the actors body language. Addressing a press conference, the actor said, I followed Prabhu and did everything he told me to. The best thing is that he got me to do only those things that suit me. Even in the trailer, there is a dialogue where Sonakshi tells Ajay that he dances better than Prabhu Dheva. With Ajay putting on his dancing shoes, this film will certainly be worth a watch! 6...Prabhu Dhevas Midas touch at the box-office: When Salman Khan teamed up with Prabhu Dheva for the 2009 release Wanted, they created a blockbuster! Wanted went on to become one of the biggest hits of that year and made it to the Rs 100 crore club. In fact, it was one of the first Salman Khan films to have made Rs 100 crores at the box-office. Rowdy Rathore starring Akshay Kumar was no exception. Within two weeks of its release, the film made it to the coveted Rs 100 crore club. While R...Rajkumar was also successful at the BO, going by this trend, Action Jackson could be added to his list of hits, although it is too early to speculate. But given his luck at the box-office, Action Jackson could prove to be lucky for Prabhu Dheva. 7...Prabhu Dheva and Ajay Devgn team up for the first time: Each director has his favourite actor or muse and while Prabhu Dheva seems to have a penchant for casting Sonakshi Sinha in all his films, roping in Ajay Devgn is a first for the filmmaker. According to a report on asianage, Ajay spoke fondly about Prabhu Dheva, He is a fabulous director. His sense of humour is completely different, very subtle. It’s very difficult to match up to him actually.” In his interview on hindustantimes, Prabhu Dheva said, My films also serve a social purpose. Theyre designed to be stress-busters. They make the audience forget their worries. Ajay Devgns film too is a complete masala script, guaranteed to make everybody forget their worries. 8....Sonakshis glam look: Though Sonakshi is not new to sport the Western look, shes known for her desi belle avatar in films, be it Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore or R...Rajkumar. With the mid-length ghagras and cholis with a deep back, Sona has managed to look stylish while retaining an Indian-ness about her. But for Action Jackson, shes gone the extra mile by opting for an ultra glam look. The actress is posing in a short black colour body-hugging suit, with the shoot taking place in Austria. Sonakshi has certainly surprised us and we look forward to her experiments in the film, where clothing and style are concerned. 9....Lavish dance sequences: Songs like Pritam Pyaare and Gandi Baat from Rowdy Rathore and R...Rajkumar respectively catered to the Indian audience at large and became superhits. With a more rural setting, director Prabhu Dheva seems to incorporate lavish dance sequences in his movies as the icing on the cake. These songs serve as item numbers and in Action Jackson, the filmmaker seems to have included a rather elaborate dance routine. Also, in his last two films (Rowdy Rathore and R...Rajkumar), Prabhu Dheva has had three item girls so it remains to be seen if this is repeated in Action Jackson. 10..Music: Never mind the lyrics that dont seem to make that much sense in Prabhu Dheva films. The music more than makes up for it, whether its the song Saree ke fall sa or Gandi Baat. The song Punjabi Mast from Action Jackson has released and Ajay and Sonakshi seem to compliment each other well. With a typical Punjabi tadka to it, Ajay Devgn has let himself loose and the tune is catchy and is soon picking up. Both Sonakshi and Ajay have had some hit numbers in their movies including Son of Sardaar. With Himesh Reshammiya being roped as the music director, Prabhu Dheva has ensured the music is well looked after, considering Himesh has a track record of dishing out hits! 11..Supporting star cast: Joining Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha are a host of other actors including Yaami Gautam, Manasvi Mamgai and Kunaal Roy Kapur. Interestingly, Ajay will not only romance Sona but also Yami and Miss India World 2010 Manasvi, who makes her Bollywood debut with this film. While shooting with Ajay, Yami seemed to be intimidated by the action star. In her interview to The Times of India, the actress shared her experience working with Devgn. We were doing a serious scene and I couldnt stop laughing because I was so overwhelmed by his presence. I kept telling myself that I need to get serious, she said, adding, Initially, I used to weigh my words when I spoke to him. I would be conscious and it wasnt a great sight as I wasnt at my best. 12...South remake: Bollywood is often inspired by South films and this is not a new trend in the industry. Since movies down South do good business and are a sure shot hit, B-town film makers seem to be inspired by their formula and remake these films in Hindi. Singham was a remake of a Tamil film. Even Yuva, Rowdy Rathore, Tere Naam, Ghajini, Bodyguard, Ready and Wanted to name a few have been South remakes. After Rowdy Rathore and Wanted, Prabhu Dhevas Action Jackson is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Dookudu, which starred Mahesh Babu and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. Only time will tell what the box-office figures for this film will be.
