Action of SI Ajay Kumar is highly commendable. But the incident makes it clear that our society is not taking care of a mentally challenged woman, who is homeless and in advanced stage of pregnancy. Why should she be on roads and vulnerable. If this woman was raped, there would be huge hue and cry in the society. But why should not society and the government take care of them in the first place. Why should it be police only to take care of it, to take them to hospital, get orders from magistrate from their homes. Society should take care of them in the first place. Imagine this woman was mentally challenged, has been on roads, has been pregnant, what she must have undergone during this period of being on the roads. Where have been these organizations who make so much noise for women safety. Where is the vocal media which creates so much noise if a crime happens. If we want woman safety, no woman should be on the road in this condition. Society has to discharge its responsibility, if the family fails. Satyendra Garg
