Activities this week (18.01.15 to 24.01.15) ***State level Republic day will be celebrated at Shimla and Shimla Police is working hard to make it a grand success.*** *** As part of our move to check thefts and burglaries in the district and ensuring security of the Temples, SOs and SDPOs are holding meetings with local people and committee members of temples. In this sequence, Sh. Munish Dadhwal, SDPO Choupal, and Sh. Som Dutt, SDPO Rampur held meetings with the committee members of temples under their jurisdictions for ensuring the safety of temples. These officers also holded meetings regarding traffic safety during the traffic safety week observed by the Shimla police by creating awareness among the masses about safety on the roads.** ***SHO PS Sunni visited the schools for spreading awareness amongst the students about traffic safety and the drug abuse.*** ***Meeting on traffic safety and temple security was held in the jurisdiction of PS Nerwa under the chairmanship of SDPO Chopal, Sh. Munish Dadhwal.*** *** CCTV cameras have been installed in Chopal Market and Temples in Chopal area for keeping a sharp vigil. The Chopal market is under CCTV surveillance now with the control at SHO office Chopal.*** ****As part of our move against the thieves, Shimla Police has succeeded to nab Two thieves getting away after stealing cash from Baba Balak Nath Temple at Jakhu, Shimla. Rs. 56059/- have been recovered from their possession in Case FIR No. 04/15 PS East Shimla. Also Shimla police has arrested one thief trying to break into the Shiv Shakti Gauran Temple in the Jurisdiction of PS Dhalli Case FIR No.42/15 has been registered in this regard. **** *** Shimla Police has arrested 5 accused along with contrabands in two cases under ND&PS Act. 3 bottles of corex and 200 capsules have been recovered in one case while 1.1 KG Charas has been recovered in the other, as part of our move against the drug traffeking.**** *** 574 challans under MV Act were issued to offenders during this week and Rs. 1,03,400/- collected as fine. 12 challans under towing head with imposition of a fine of Rs. 21,910/- and 4 challans under clamping head with fine of Rs. 400/- has also been imposed to keep Shimla congestion and jam free.***** ****39 FIRs have been registered in Shimla district under different heads of crime during this week.***** ** Police is making best efforts to keep the traffic through in the fresh snowfall at Kufri and higher reaches.**
