Actually tranquilliser guns are not given to zoo authorities - TopicsExpress

Actually tranquilliser guns are not given to zoo authorities because of misuse. One gun costs more than 5 lakh rupees. Plus there are regulations if the amount if drug thats to be used. Anaesthesia and sedatives are extremely regulated In our country. We are in a country where even cops are not given revolvers. We have created the monster ourselves. We misuse as a part of our DNA. Wherever we are, whichever organization we work, we steal. We take our office stationary home for our kids to do homework, hospital staff take medicines and open their own medical stores on the sly.... Nothing that we have in our offices are used moderately or wisely. I recall in my workplace long back in Accenture, some staff used to get large two liter pet bottles to fill coke and Mirinda and even mineral water to take home!! There are even the more cheaper ones who would take a shower in the office bathrooms so as to save water in their own homes !! No other country has this mindset and behaviour. Hence Indians are so infamous in the West too. I recall, three years back when a leopard and her two cubs entered a school campus near my house due to heavy rains flooding the Bannerghata national park, the zoo officials were asking all of us Animal welfare guys for a tran. gun. There are lot of root causes behind everything. We cannot create a blanket generalised statement. In this incident everyone involved has to be given a benefit of doubt. Shit happens at times. Lets just leave it at that. The boy was mentally unstable. He could have easily walked away and the tiger would have done nothing. The tiger was also not sure what to do. He has never hunted his entire life and already had his full meal of ten kg meat that he eats daily ....and didnt know what to do. He didnt understand what the humans were achieving screaming and throwing stones at him. The people watching were major morons too. Including the guy who was busy shooting the video. Who are the type of people who go to a zoo on a weekday?? Not the average you and I , right? All it required was to throw in a net in and grab the guy out. But now, its all done with.... None to blame. Why do we compulsorily have to blame someone?
