Addition to my Ramadan routine - last 10 nights The Prophet - TopicsExpress

Addition to my Ramadan routine - last 10 nights The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to strive hard (in worship) during the last ten days of Ramadan in a way that he did not strive at any other times. [Muslim, 1175, from Aishah] Ramadan is the month when most Muslims feel a greater desire to give. Why not make a goal or plan to donate every night for the last 10 nights? InshAllah, if you stick with it, youll be giving on Laylatul Qadr which Allah swt describes in the Quran: Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. [Surah al-Qadr] 10 nights. Whether its a dollar a day or $10 - whatever you can do, make an intention, set a goal and move forward. Perhaps youll choose 10 different charities or projects, or youll aim to hit the sadaqah box before/after taraweeh each night. Set an alarm on your phone, write a reminder for the door, get a friend to encourage and remind you. Hit up the ATM, separate the money into 10 envelopes. Whatever it takes. May we all make the most of the best 10 nights of the year, continue to encourage and support one another, draw closer to Allah swt and His prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam, and end this month in a better state of iman, health and character than we entered it. Ameen.
