Adeyinka Aroyewun (Deputy Director) Adeyinka was the coordinator of the First, Second and Third African ADR Summits held in Abuja (2006) and Lagos (2007 & 2008) respectively. She explained how the the multi-door initiative in Nigeria pioneered by LAGOS STATE is inspired by Harvard Law Professor, Frank Sander at the Pound Conference. The LMDC founder, is Kehinde Aina, a partner in the law firm of Aina, Blankson & Co., who started the Negotiation & Conflict Management Group (NCMG) in 1996 as the non -governmental organization to advocate the expansion of ADR in Nigeria and midwife the introduction of the Multi-Door Courthouse concept into the Nigerian Judicial System. The overarching objective of The LMDC is to facilitate dispute resolution within the Nigerian Justice System disrobed of the encumbrances of unwieldy, bewildering and costly litigations. It is the first court-connected Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre in Africa. In one of its landmark resolution, a 16yr old case between a former CEO of a Merchant Bank and the Vice-President of Nigeria was amicably sorted out in a matter of hours when the two disputants met, one-on-one!
