Admin Dar Aabid Geelani concerned over loss of life in LoCshelling Urges India, Pak To Halt Firing Srinagar, Aug 26: Urging India and Pakistan to immediately halt firing on Line of Control, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Monday expressed grief and said he was concerned over loss of precious lives in the ongoing shelling on LoC. “Unless Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of people of state, the risk of war between India and Pakistan will remain there. War between these two nuclear powers will be more dangerous and devastating for the peace and security of thewhole world. India, in order to mislead international community, plans to cover up real facts about serious human rights violations in Kashmir. Forthis purpose they have chalked out a game-plan to continue with their strategy of keeping borders tense,” said Geelani in a statement today. Expressing grief and sorrow over killings due to shelling on LoC, Geelani said as a result ofthe shelling Kashmiris are being killed and theirhouses destroyed. “This process has been going on for the several decades and the life of Kashmiris on the areas near LoC has become miserable,” he said. “The government of India portrays Kashmir issue as a mere infiltration issue,” said Geelani. “A line of division has been manipulated and with the result hundreds of families were divided.New Delhi intends to suppress the demand of people for their right to self determination,” Geelani said, adding that “the current skirmishes started when Indian army without any provocation killed five hunters from Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) and dubbed them as militants." “The fake encounters are being staged by forces. Several times in the past they arrest youth, took them to LoC and killed them there and were dubbed as militants.” Terming Kashmir issue asroot cause of all problems between two countries, Geelani said, “Three full scale wars were fought between India and Pakistan and if the Kashmir issue is not resolved as per the aspirations of the people,a devastating war in future cannot be ruled out. New Delhi with its stubbornness is delaying solution to Kashmir issue.”
