[Admin Post] My dear friends and fellow spotters, The recent adoption of Boruff Orthodox rules in Dogspotting has not been without controversy. While many have applauded the more challenging system, others have been dismayed at certain elements of Orthodox Spotting, especially the idea of negative scoring for small dogs. Our own administration team is sharply divided along these lines. Josh Boruff, Jeff Wallen, Carl Jenkins and myself are longstanding Orthodox spotters, while John Savoia, Claudia Sherman and Reid Paskiewicz prefer the Free Point System. Emotions are running high on both sides; splinter groups are forming, and the media breathlessly covers our every move. With great difficulty, I have persuaded all parties to sit down and negotiate a new set of rules. I will be presiding over the 2014 Dogspotting Reformation Summit this weekend at Reid Paskiewiczs secluded spotters blind the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The proceedings of this summit will not be made public, but I have been authorized to post periodic updates about the progress of the negotiations. I am cautiously optimistic that the Boruff-Savoia split can be resolved with a new set of Reform Dogspotting rules.
