Enhances Compensation for Victims of Man-Animal Conflict SRINAGAR; 03, Sep 2013:State Government has decided to increase the compensation for the victims of Man-Animal Conflict that has witnessed an increase in the state during the past few years. Minister of Forests, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf said that compensation to those killed in man-animal conflict would be enhanced to Rupees Three Lac while Rupees 1.5 Lac would be paid tho those injured in such incidents. He has directed authorities of WildlifeDepartment to come up with a proposal to this effort for seeking approval from State Board of Wildlife,headed by the Chief Minister, officialssaid here today. The meeting was told that the Department is proposing to introduce power fencing to contain the movement of the wild animals. The meeting was informed that 20 trained hunters have been pressed into service for elimination of the wild wolves, who killed some peoplein Kreeri village of district Baramulla. Three wolves have been eliminated so far in the combing operation and there is no report of any such incident in the area for past twenty days, it was added.
