Admin please remove if this is a violation. Foster Care Closet posted this a few days ago. Its pretty long but worth the read. Dear Friends, I have waited a few days to share the following with you because I want to do service to the young lady I want to honor. Last week I learned about the passing of one of our loyal donors. Jennifer McGowan Faustman was a 31 year old young woman who lived life well beyond her years. I was fortunate enough to get to know Jeni through her reaching out to the Foster CARE Closet in 2012 when we were putting together the Intake CARE Center. Jeni was dating a young man, Michael (Frosty) Faustman who ran his own small business and she offered for Fosty Effects to help with some of the physical labor. Jeni used Frostys pickup to help transport cubicals and then came back to help us put together those cubicals. Jenis smile was infectous! Jenis desire to help in anyway she could reached well beyond her passion for helping Frosty grow the business to small organizations like ours. I was drawn immediately to Jeni because she understood the sweat and tears and smiles that go into being small and defying odds. She understood that the Foster CARE Closet had nothing to offer her or Frosty Effects except our gratitude for their support. She gave with no expectations of a return. Last winter when I posted a plea for clothing, Jeni and her sister Stephanie were at the Closet with bags full of NEW and very gently used items. BUT she also thought about those who are busy handing out those clothes and brought a tray of goodies for all to share. Man were they YUMMY! Being small is hard, Jeni would agree as she did all she could to help get Frosty Effects known through the community. She understood the importance of the hands on help needed and she did something, anything she could to help. But being small is also a blessing. Because we are small, we get the opportunity to KNOW our donors. They arent just a person dropping off clothes, they are a fellow worker with us. They are faces and names that we can recall when we are at the grocery store or the mall. They arent a donation receipt, they are a relationship. Being small lets us rejoice with those who celebrate and grieve with those who grieve. Please, wont you join me today in expressing your gratitude for the life of Jeni and the love for those she has left behind. Please, for those who are prayer warriors, lift Frosty and the new little boy that will forever carry the kindness of Jeni with him, before the Throne. If ever there were a post that deserved your notes of encouragement, this would be the one!! Jeni passed away within 48 hours of the birth of her son. This organization was near and dear to her heart and her family and friends are asking that her memory be honored by people supporting this cause. So if you have items you cannot sell please consider donating to this organization. Thanks and again remove if necessary.
