Adolfo Cambiaso records his 150th win A sidebar to the Spanish high-goal Bronze Cup win by Bob Jornayvazs Valiente team (Bob Jornayvaz, Santi Torres, Santiago Laborde and Adolfo Cambiaso) nearly went unnoticed as the Argentine 10-goaler, the fire n the Valiente lineup, notched his 150th win in a professional polo career that began in 1988. Cambiaso is currently the top ranked player in the game and an icon in the polo world. He has dominated the game on three continents winning major trophies in South America, North America and Europe. Almost as revered as the popular 10-goaler is are his horses. It has often been said that the horse is 75%-80% of the game, and Adolfo Cambiaso took that to heart. Operating a world-renowned breeding operation, Adolfo was also one of the thrst high-goal stars to get involvd in teh cloning business, attempting to replicate a strng of his top horses from years gone by. Adolfo Cambiaso has already led teh Valiente team to their first major European win in the Spanish Bronze Cup, and will be facing Dos Lunas (Luis Domecq, Pascual de Vicuna, Agustin Grossi and Martin Iturrape) in Fridays finals at Sotograndes Santa Maria Polo Club. His mounts carried him to victory over a talented and high-scoring Ellerston polo team (Thomas Brodie, Gonzalito Pieres, Facundo Pieres and JamiePacker) that boasted 10-goalers Gonzalito and Facundo Pieres, the 2013 defending Silver Cup champions. It was an impressive display of top horseflesh as Gonzalo Pieres, Sr. , a former 10-goaler himself, operates the highly-respected and well established Ellerstina horse operation in Argentina, and had his boys well-mounted. Sometimes you want to keep your eye on the ball, but in polo, its all about the horses to those who understand the game. So congratulations on the 150th win, Adolfo, and continued success.
