Adoption In Christ | Pastor Chris Beals | 11-09-2014 Paul explains the life changing doctrine of the adoption in Christ in Romans 8:12-17. At the heart of our adoption in Christ is the gospel message. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life, die a substitutionary death on the cross, and resurrect back to life in order to make rebellious people adoptable. Paul also lays out three new realities that take place in the adoption in Christ. First, believers are given a new belonging (Romans 8:12-14). The second new reality that takes place in the adoption in Christ is a new assurance (Romans 8:15-16). The third new reality that takes place in the adoption in Christ is a new future (Romans 8:16-17). Adoption in Christ gives us a new belonging, a new assurance, and a new future into God’s family.
