Adoption Update: the mayor has signed off on our daughters consentment/adoptability in general terms...now we need a judge to sign off on her being Matched to US, specifically. (this is a New step apparently, for any older Haitian adoptive families, since we are New Process under 2013s new adoption law) This at least means SOMEONE is doing SOMEthing! *theyve only now sort of let it trickle down to us that this still needed to happen...weve got her consentment FINALLY AS OF TODAY ( but with her name only, not with the adoptive familys name on it with the kiddos name like a completed match, like the old process procedure) but after almost FOUR months wondering why we hadnt exited IBESR and having gotten her referral last November and having travelled for our bonding trip at IBESRs invite in January, clearly things are backwards - the horse was definitely put before the horse - but HALLELUJAH someone is doing SOMETHING down there on this! Now? We need a judge to sign off on her consenement being matched to us. THEN we will exit IBESR. THEN we have 6-12 months till homecoming. BUT AT LEAST ITS SOMETHING, AMEN???
