Adventures in Alexandria: CarreFour Edition We needed a few - TopicsExpress

Adventures in Alexandria: CarreFour Edition We needed a few things we couldnt get here at the Metro (grocers), so tonight we got one of the drivers to take us to CarreFour, i/e Egypts Walmart. It was definately an experience! The location we visited tonight is inside the City Center Mall. If you ever go, make sure to bring a 1 Egyptian Pound coin to insert into the lock on the cart handle or you cannot get the chain unlinked from the cart in front of it (the coin gets refunded when you return it). SO, after Eric and I finish the shopping, he takes most of the bags and asks me to put the cart back up. As I walk over to the cart return and go to put the clip for the lock back in (get my refund) this douchie, extremely high-end-designer dressed young dude jumps right beside me, grabs the handle of the cart, and says, hasana hasana (okay okay) while trying to snap in the lock (trying to steal my pound!) I move my elbow into position just in case cause this guy was WAY too physically close to me and get my coin back as he STILL TRIED TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE COIN RETURN!!! No, he did not work there, he was standing with other dudes hanging out. He backed off when he saw my face and I had MY coin in MY hand. Everyone who knows me understands that if you ask, Ill give if I can ; if you ATTEMPT to take, I break knee caps. Eric was chuckling the whole time cause he knows I can take care of myself and that this stupid 20-something didnt know whom he was trying to take from... I should probably mention that one EGP is worth about 14 cents USD. Morals of the story: 1) Be aware of your surroundings and able to take care of yourself. 2) Tis better to ask a stranger for help than get beaten up by a girl for trying to steal. 3) Yes, I really am that big of a penny pincher.
