Adventures of the Old Guy: Sunday September 21, 2014 Life has many petty aggravations. The Old Guy has learned to cope with most of them. A particularly troublesome one is the arrival of flies in the fall. The little buggers seem to come in the house to avoid the cold weather. They will buzz around the house, land on your food, practice touch and go landings on your hand or nose, and become a bothersome pest. I had to yell at my son Bobby, because he is staying with me for a week of hunting. He bunks in my basement and I discovered he is harboring a pet fly. I saw that damn fly sitting on his shoulder on three occasions when he went into the basement. When ever he comes upstairs that Hells Angel fly comes with him and starts harassing me. He will fly circles around my head, land on the lip of my beer glass for a drink, and even do a victory dance on my fly swatter. I have tried to kill him but his reactions are quicker than mine. Today I am going to try flypaper. If I catch him I will take him to my barn where I keep a pet spider. Life is good and having a fly killing strategy makes it better
