Firefighters have stopped the spread of the bushfire in the BLACK RANGE - STAWELL area and fire activity has subsided. The bushfire is not yet under control. You are no longer under any threat. Some roads in the area remain closed. Check VicRoads website for up to date information. Work continues in establishing control lines in the difficult granite boulder country of the Black Range. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. A Relief Centre is operating from Stawell Leisure Centre,49-51 Houston Street. The next update is expected by 19/01/14 12:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. Continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Contact a family member or friend to tell them what you plan to do now.
