Advice Issued For: Boweya, Yeerip, Boweya North Fire Origin: LAKE ROWAN -WARBYS Incident Name: LAKE ROWAN - WARBYS Issued: 19/12/14 6:50 PM This Advice message is being issued by Country Fire Authority for Boweya, Yeerip, Boweya North. The LAKE ROWAN -WARBYS fire is now contained within control lines. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke may still be visible from nearby communities and roads. The fire is 5743 hectares in size and is now contained within control lines. Work continues with landholders on burning trees. There is no active fire but there are still hazardous trees within the control lines. The Wangaratta ICC is now moving into relief, recovery and rehabilitation to assist the local community to return to normal as soon as possible. A Community Recovery Information Centre is now operating from the Wangaratta Government Centre on the corner of Ford and Ovens Streets during business hours. In Benalla Rural City a Customer Service Centre is operating during business hours at 1 Bridge Street East, Benalla, although it is closed from 25/12/2014 to 4/01/2015 inclusive. For Moira Shire residents, phone 03 5871 9222. This number will divert to an emergency number over the weekend. Road Closures and Traffic Management Points: Lake Rowan and Howells Roads intersection - Level C Forest Road 5.3 km south of the Tungamah-Peechelba Road - Level C Boweya and Exchange Roads intersection - Level C Devenish-Wangaratta and the Glenrowan Roads intersection - Level C Level C Traffic Management Points allow local residents through (show your drivers licence). The next update is expected by 20/12/14 12:30 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Fire affected trees and branches remain a danger.
