Advice Issued For: Dargo, Cowa, Hawkhurst, Grant, Gibbs, Treasure, Wongungarra, Arbuckle, Billabong Fire Origin: 28 KM NW DARGO Incident Name: MT KENT-SNOWY BLUFF Issued: 20/01/15 9:37 AM This Advice message is being issued by the Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Dargo, Cowa, Hawkhurst, Grant, Gibbs, Treasure, Wongungarra, Arbuckle, Billabong, Dimmick Lookout, Snowy Range, Howitt Road and Bryces Plain areas. The fire is located in a remote area of the Snowy Darling Wilderness section of the Alpine National Park, approximately 28 KM NW of Dargo and approximately 12 KM NE of Snowy Range, and is suspected to have been caused by lightning. The fire is contained and aircraft and crews are continuing to check the fire ground for hot spots. People are advised that they may still see smoke and aircraft working in the area over the coming days. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The next update is expected by 21/01/15 10:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via emergency.vic.gov.au Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
