Advice Issued For: Stawell, Black Range Fire Origin: 7KM SOUTH OF STAWELL Incident Name: STAWELL- BUNJILS CAVE ROAD Issued: 26/01/14 5:03 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Stawell, Black Range. The fire is now contained. This fire has burnt private and public land in the Black Range south of Stawell and remains active in the day time. The fire size is approximately 1800 hectares with a perimeter of 24km. 75% of the perimeter has been contained, although the whole perimeter has been secured by either control line or retardant line. Crews are continuing to work to secure the perimeter of this fire. There is currently no threat to communities. Smoke may be visible from the Western Highway and nearby communities and roads. Motorists are requested to obey Traffic Management signs. For road closures, refer to the VicRoads website. The next update is expected by 27/01/2014 9.00am or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
