Advice needed for a community member: I am the caregiver of my 65 yr old mother. She suffers from advanced rheumatoid arthritis. In the past few years she has stopped caring about adventure in life and living life to its fullest. She stays home all day, has no friends but me. I can take care of most of her care but there is one stand out issue FEAR. She is scared in the car which i understand but most of her fear is bathing. I cannot get her to take a shower/bath. I have purchased tools such as a handicapped chair, bar for the wall and many other tools to ease her lack of flexibility. I offer to help her in and out,but she wont bath. I have offered to have a nurse come in but she refuses. I know its not healthy. I dont know what to do. Please help with some suggestions.
