Advice please. Repost. Please post anonymously! My daughter is few days past 13 months. I have been exclusively breastfeeding her till she was 5 1/2 months and sadly and with misgiving, began solids from then, under the advise of her paediatrician. Since she was always on the slimmer side, I have been bombed by disapproval of my decision to not move to formula and continue breastfeeding(NO ONE except the husband supports me in this, unfortunately, not even my mother). Due to certain stubborn personalities present since she was born, I wasnt given a chance to help her learn good sleep habits as there was always someone around to grab her from me 󾌣 When I am handed back a distraught baby, I resorted to the only way I could; breastfed her to sleep. There was a beautiful week few months ago where after nearly two weeks of me staying up all night(literally sat up), where she seemed to have finally eased into a good routine for sleep. A sudden trip changed all that and we are back to square one. She does not sleep unless I nurse her and wakes up all through the night wanting to continue and cries when I try to hold her; she was fine with the dad holding her but now doesnt even respond to that. Just to be clear. I have had a bedtime routine for her from the day she came home from the hospital; warm wash/massage/story time/nurse and lullabies. She has always slept on her crib although I love having her on my bed from time to time. What can I do to help her sleep well as it distresses me so much to see her cry through the night and sleep it off in the morning? PS:I am completely no-no for any cry it out methods!
