Advocate/Case Manager Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians Position Summary: The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians (welcomingcenter.org) is seeking an experienced Case Manager to assist immigrant clients in navigating the employment seeking process and in accessing necessary and available services that will strengthen their employment prospects. Reporting to the Director of Education and Training, the Case Manager will direct clients progression from intake through job placement, coordinating with instructors, employment specialists and others as appropriate. Much of the Case Managers focus will be on clients who are transitioning from welfare to work through our vocational literacy program Responsibilities: • Conduct the intake process for new clients. • Provide counseling, support, and management for vocational literacy clients as well as other students in our education and training programs. • Track and report client outcomes. • Interface with Director of Education and Training, tutors, and employment specialists on a case-by-case basis to ensure appropriate progress for each client. • Participate in preparing reports to satisfy contract requirements. Requirements: • Bachelors degree in social work or a related discipline requiredd. • At least 2 years experience as an advocate, social worker or case manager. Welfare to work experience and/or immigrant services experience preferable. • Strong knowledge of and experience with public welfare requirements. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Ability to learn new software quickly and independently. • Proficiency in other language[s] a plus. • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. • Cover letters.
