Affliction Listen to the words of the apostle Paul in 2 Cor 4:17. A man of profound suffering, writes: For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison... Not only is God going to overcome our affliction, but God is using our affliction to help us overcome. Literally, our pain is working for us. The bitterness of this present time is sweetening the one to come! And that hope ironically sweetens this present life. Though life is not a piece of Heaven on Earth, by faith, we get the peace of Heaven on earth. Sweetness is not exclusively reserved for a future experience, but its realities have already begun! We see emanations or beams of our coming glory in our being renewed by Gods word, sweet fellowship with Gods people, the peace of a clear conscious, the filling of the Holy Spirit, and the list goes on and on. Every special blessing that God gives us is the voice of glory being heard on earth. Dive into those glories today! “…[C]ontemplate the Lord’s glory...[and be] transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” Stay faithful! Prayer: Lord, give me eyes to behold Your glory. Encourage my heart, oh Lord, with my future, so it will have profound impact on my present.
