African countries, like European countries and North American countries have traditional ways of dealing with pests and insects. The biggest threat to global agriculture and food shortages is not so much novel seeds owned by big corporations but bad governance, war and corruption - but even the brilliant Bill and Melinda dont have answers to that more pressing problem. GMO farming has pretty much destroyed a diverse American agriculture and offers the American consumer dumbed down food lacking in natural nutrients.
