I dont always find getting action shots totally sharp when the light starts getting low very easy, always a bit of compromise when it comes to camera settings, and some luck needed. Image with a Canon 1Dmk4, EF 300 L f2.8 IS. Ai Servo, single AF point selected by me, Evaluative metering. Shutter speed 1/1000sec at f4.0, Iso 800. Image cropped in post from 16 to 11megapixels. Brightened shadows, corrected colour cast, darkened bright sunlit background in Adobe Camera Raw. There are small, white particles of sand falling off the dogs coat, in the background. If I could have taken it again, I would have perhaps shot at higher iso, enabling a smaller aperture for more depth of field...
