Africas Independence, is it a Myth or a Reality? Amidst this deadly ebola outbreak, I am using this opportunity to call on all Sober-minded young Africans to take time out reflect and think of what our African Continent would look like if there is another outbreak of some other disease. Being on the front line during this Ebola crisis has not been easy for several reasons. However, I still wonder why did our African leaders in their expensive attire asked for independence from their Colonial Masters? Yes, one might argue for our independence referencing Slavery, but the fact remains that Africa is far from being independent. Every time from one crisis to another, people perish. How long shall we continue looking out for help every now and then? The Sober-minded young leaders of Africa needs to step up. Our African leaders are full of misplaced priorities. Investing in Education & Health is more of Political Rhetoric especially during election campaigns. Officials of governments pay huge sums of money to fly oversees for medical.
