After 2 years of letting my PS3 sit because of the RLOD (red light of death) I decided to do a little digging online for how-to videos and instructions. I came across a video that told you to use a heat gun to re-flow the solder on the 2 main processors. I was skeptical to say the least, but I gave it a try. HOLY SHIT IT WORKED! Its not hard to do and only costs a few dollars for a tube of heatsink/thermal paste-compound. I followed the video to a T and its been working great since. Heres the video for anyone having the same RLOD problem with their PS3.
