After 27 years I finally did it by the shear grace of God! I received a call yesterday from my boss and this is what transpired: Boss: Are you busy? {Like I would say no}, Me: Of course! Im always busy but what can I do for you?{I actually was!} Boss: Im sending you an email. Let me know when you get it and I need you and I to discuss it. {Email notification goes off} I open the email and about fell out of the chair! Boss: Did you read it? Me: Yes sir. Boss: Do you agree? Me: Oh yes sir I agree! The email contained my offer of promotion to Maritime Program Coordinator for the State of Texas! I am the second person in the history of the state to hold the position and the first female. Boss: Theres a catch. Me: Of course there is! This is the State! Boss: I can only offer you X amount of money for the job. Will you still take it? Me: (After I pick the phone up from my desk from dropping it) Oh hell yeah Ill take the job! Boss: (Laughing) I really apologize for not telling you sooner but I was holding out for more $$ but this is what they would approve. Me: (Joking) Well...Ill let it slide THIS time! So finally, after all this time, hard work and dedication, I have a boss who gave me a chance to use my skills, I aimed high and I made it! I have the best boss in the world but more importantly I have the best Heavenly Father for taking me down this path! Thank you Lord Jesus for all of your blessings!
