After 4 years, nearly 400 shows, a million new friends, The Oak + The Ax will be closing its doors come October. It is with extreme gratitude that we close this chapter of our lives. Weve benefited so much from having this as our livelihood, there is no better word. The people weve met, the friends we now treasure, just having a room to bring together people in our community on the hottest night or in the midst of a blizzard…our hearts have been warmed over and over again. From the moment we opened our doors, we felt so much support. In the very beginning we stayed open just about every night in hopes that someone would come through those 4 doors. People would come in just to meet us and say how excited they were that we were doing this. We jumped into starting The Oak + The Ax at the same time as looking for a place to live in Maine. We were looking for a complete life change, but the net was spread wide and we got so much more than we could have ever expected. We want to give generous thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way. You have changed us and we are better because of you. It has all been so precious, but now it is also little, so lets spend the rest of it celebrating! We have so many incredible shows coming up that we are so proud of and our annual festival the last weekend in September that is partnering with the Biddeford Music Festival (right in our backyard) River Jam. Please come out and celebrate with us as much as possible these next couple months. Its been the most amazing adventure.
